Watch This Dad Build a Ford F-150 Raptor entirely out of wood

Have you ever dreamed of owning a Ford F-150 Raptor, the powerful and rugged pickup truck that can handle any terrain? Well, one Vietnamese dad got a very special gift for his birthday: a wooden Ford F-150 Raptor that his son made for him.

The son, Dao Truong Van, is a skilled woodworker who spent 150 days crafting the wooden pickup truck for his father.

He used timber, metal, and LED lights to create a realistic and detailed replica of the Ford F-150 Raptor, complete with a honeycomb grille, off-roading tires, and Raptor branding.

The amazing build process from start to finish

Mr Dao documented the entire build process in a video that he uploaded on YouTube (you can watch it at the end of this article).

He started by making a metal chassis and welding it together.

He then added an axle to the back and connected the front wheels with a working suspension system.

Next, he built a metal frame for the pickup and painted it black.

He then cut and shaped the wood to make a rough body for the Ford F-150 Raptor.

He used a chainsaw and an angle grinder to refine the shape and smooth the edges.

Mr Dao then focused on the interior of the pickup, where he carved the dashboard from wood.

He added a fake infotainment system, air vents, and a steering wheel that looked like the real ones.

He also made two wooden seats with Raptor logos on them.

After that, he attached various exterior trim pieces, such as the front grille, the wing mirrors, and the tailgate.

He then applied a coat of varnish to the wooden bodywork to give it a glossy finish.

Finally, he installed the front and rear lights, and some plexiglass for the windows, and the Ford F-150 Raptor was ready to roll.

A father’s joy and a son’s pride

Mr Dao’s father was overjoyed when he saw the wooden Ford F-150 Raptor that his son made for him.

He got behind the wheel and drove it along a dirt road, smiling and waving at the camera. Mr Dao was also proud of his work and his father’s happiness.

He said that he made the wooden pickup truck as a way of expressing his love and gratitude to his father.
